Romania confirmed a first case of coronavirus at a 25 years old man from Gorj county, Health Minister Victor Costache said.
Victor Costache said at a press conference that “the condition of the man is good and we hope for a positive evolution.”
Raed Arafat, SMURD founder, added that “there are seven people in the house, and all were tested negatively. However, they will stay at home under guard and will not be able to leave the house”.
The news comes in the context in which two Italian citizens, who visited Romania, were found positive with coronavirus upon their return to their country.
The first Italian found positive, a 71-year-old man, is married to a Romanian and traveled to Gorj County, in February, where he made contact with his mother-in-law, but also with other people, the man carrying on and a series of business meetings.
The other Italian, aged 51, accompanied him on this visit to Romania.
