Pirelli, the largest employer in Olt County, has decided to send its approximately 4.000 employees into technical unemployment, in the context of Covid-19 outbreak.
The decision is aimed at all the employees of the company who will stay home until the end of March. During the technical unemployment period 75% of the salary will be paid by the company.
“Pirelli Slatina announces the suspension of the activity of the factory, from March 23 to March 31, 2020, in the context of recent concerns regarding the COVID-19 outbreak, but also the slowdown in the demand for products on the automotive market. In addition to the measures to prevent COVID-19 contamination already applied inside the factory, Pirelli Slatina announces that the restart of the production activity will be done with the smallest number of employees. Pirelli will constantly monitor the evolution of the situation and is ready to take additional measures if necessary”, Pirelli representatives said.
